If you've ever spent 15 minutes unsuccessfully looking for a protocol (or results, or a recipe, etc) that you swear you had written down somewhere, then it's probably time for you to get an electronic laboratory notebook. Some are specialized for specific purposes, such as meeting documentation requirements in regulated ELN laboratories. Others just make your life easier, plain and simple.
